Årdal Development and Invest in Inner Vestland
In October, Årdal Utvikling received good news from Vestland County Council with a positive response to our application for funds for the project "Invest in Inner Vestland".
The grant is 1,500,000 NOK with a project period of three years.
The project fits perfectly with Årdal's industrial expertise and the activities in Grøn Hub Årdal Technology Park. It is a feasibility study for future industrial establishments, by looking at the entire region as a whole in terms of area, power, opportunities for industrial symbiosis and cooperation to attract the right companies to Sogn/Inner Vestland. Årdal is in the lead in the project that encompasses the municipalities of Årdal, Lærdal, Aurland, Vik, Luster and Sogndal, which will map the possibilities for establishing new companies and industries. Central to the mapping are also new establishments linked to existing businesses, with a main focus on green industry development.
One of the impact goals of the project will be the flow of expertise between the municipalities, by developing a better sharing culture in the region for skills development. Bringing together and collaborating between the expertise environments, and connecting people who can actively work to put the right establishments in place in our region will be crucial for our local communities to be viable in the future. SITEP, Sogn Kompetanse, HVL and the Study Centre will be a channel in the project to mobilize the municipalities and increase the use of offers within skills development and reskilling.
We are looking forward to starting the project together with all the partners to put Invest in Indre Vestland in place!
