FjordAlgae

FjordAlg AS was founded in 2016 by founder and current CEO Gabriel Ossenkamp. After a long time in the industry, he started a company based on the belief that microalgae can contribute to sustainable food and nutrition production. Our ambition is to make the pink in salmon green.

Currently, the company focuses on the production of natural astaxanthin. For this, we use the microalgae Haematococcus lacustris. This species is often reported to contain up to 5% astaxanthin. Astaxanthin can be used in health foods and as a feed ingredient for farmed fish.

We are now in a phase where we are working on starting a factory in Årdal.
