Green Hub

Green Hub Årdal Technology Park is a beacon in the green shift - a center in the region for technology, development and industrial symbiosis.

The technology park houses a future-oriented environment that, through innovation, expertise and collaboration, creates zero-emission solutions and new, green jobs. Green Hub Årdal Technology Park will be a technology reference and an important partner in the work to develop value creation and green competitiveness in Vestland.

Sustainability and innovation - a greener future

Green Hub Årdal Technology Park is at the forefront of meeting one of the greatest challenges of our time – the climate threat. With a highly competent research environment and close cooperation with industry, we are continuously working to find innovative solutions that can help reduce emissions and create new, green jobs. Årdal is known for its strong technological expertise, with more doctorates per thousand inhabitants than any other municipality, second only to Trondheim.

Through our focus on industrial symbiosis, we are harnessing resources that would normally go to waste. One example is waste heat from aluminum production, which is used to dry algae produced by the company Fjordalg – algae that contain the important substance astaxanthin, used in fish feed. This is just one part of a larger cycle where CO2, which would otherwise be seen as a waste product, is used to grow the algae – a perfect example of how we use local resources to create sustainable solutions.

Through our unique position as one of four industrial hubs in Vestland County Municipality's Green Region initiative, our goal is to create collaboration across public and private actors. We want to ensure that the green shift happens faster, better and more efficiently, with the goal of reduced emissions and a sustainable future.

Green Hub Årdal Technology Park is more than a technology environment – we are a catalyst for innovation, development and future-oriented industry, where every part of our work contributes to making the big picture more sustainable. We are ready to take part in exciting, new projects and are always looking for partners who share our vision for a greener and more sustainable future.
