Meet our new CEO, Erling Brækkan, who is looking forward to becoming better acquainted with the business community, industry and expertise environment in Årdal and the region.

Our new CEO has only been in place for a few weeks, but has already made a strong impression on both the business community and the people of Årdal.
– The first few weeks have given a very positive impression. I have met many committed and competent people who want to contribute to the further development of the business community. The willingness to cooperate is great, and I experience an environment with a strong ability to implement and faith in the future. It is easy to see why Årdal has been an important industrial community for over a hundred years, says Erling.
Sees great potential in Årdal
Erling looks forward to becoming better acquainted with both the business community, industry and the expertise environment in Årdal and the region.
– Årdal has a unique combination of industrial experience, renewable energy, available land and innovative power. I feel that there are great opportunities in building on this foundation, creating new collaborations and helping more companies and projects find their way to Årdal, he says.

– I experience Årdal as a city with great energy and many opportunities. Here you will find an interesting mix of established industry, entrepreneurship and a willingness to innovate. He believes this provides a good starting point for Årdal to take part in new industrial initiatives and the green shift.
Experience in technology and business development
Erling brings solid experience from the telecom, technology and software industries and has worked with leadership, business development, strategy and digital transformation.
– Throughout my career, I have been fascinated by how technology, expertise and collaboration can create growth and new value creation, he says.
In addition, he has a more local connection to the region than many may realize.
– As a student, I worked as a mate on the Sognefjord in the County Boats of Sogn og Fjordane. It gave me a close relationship with the region and life along the fjord, he says.
