There will be a study center in Sogn!

On Friday, the news we've been eagerly awaiting arrived -
There will be a study center in Sogn based in Årdal Technology Park!

Sogn Kompetansesenter (Sogn Kompetanse) will use the money on schemes that enable people in different places in Sogn to take education courses through colleges and universities from where they live.

– We will make it as attractive as possible to take such education, and if it means that we have to arrange for classroom teaching in Årdal, Lærdal, Aurland or other places in Sogn, then we have to do it. That is why this is very important for us in the region, says board chairman of Sogn Competence Center, Thomas Norheim Moen.

- Årdal Utvikling has a long-term competence strategy, and Sogn Competence Center is an important player in the technology park. Historically, we have had industrial vocational schools in Årdal where unskilled workers can take vocational certificates, and we also want to raise the offerings to a higher level, i.e. college and university level, says CEO of Årdal Utvikling, Geir Hansen.
